hello everyone it has been a while right now i am playign a 3.5 game with my friends and-well it is already getting to be something a S-storm. let me start from the beginning and work my way to the problem in order to give you some insight at my problem.
we began playing some few weeks ago by our DM's hybrids gaming ways from the AD&D day(our DM has been a player back when 1st ed wasnt even first ed- was IT.) which were we get two characters each which gave us some more fun and allowed us to have someone to play with till we got someone else to replace him/her; but he did not have any books on 3.5 nor any knowledge of it....which one of the players gave him his collection(which were mine till i went digital in which i gave them to him out of good faith: and who said kindness never helps in the long run?) and i gave him every bit of knowledge of 3.5 DMing to him at any time he needed it(unbiassedly i might add...dont want to spoil the game.).
well we got our character ready: my two are a human fighter named samuel who was an Ex-knight who ended up losing his honor and began to travel to find the red dragon who took it, my second one was a elf sorceress name moonlight who has some issues with order and following them in which case she uses samuel as golem to take care of things. the other havent gave any word at what their past is yet but they are a elf rogue named avoin, a human fighter named gordo, a female fighter named armus and a male half-elf fighter named zack.
long story made short we ended up getting out of a old dungeon filled with dragons, half-dragons, goblins, bug-bears, an old hag while getting our fourth players characters out of the dungeon in which i prefer not to say their names but they are a human barbarian(female), and a half-elf wizard. we ended up going to a small village where i purchased what i thought was a bag of holding in which i took to my inn room. the female rogue and the female elf fighter thought it would be fun to steal from the villagers...the elf fighter even took some local clothes into the woods to change(the Dm roll a D20 and told him some travelers saw her change...we lold for a minute)
they wait till night to start their little crime in which my characters were preparing to make magic potions out of half-dragon blood which was being drained into the tub and knew nothing about.(well moonlight knew that the rogue was going to do something but she didnt think the fighter was THAT stupid.) moonlight began to drink some tea while watching the two in progress: their first break-in was a small villagers home: they had children from the DM told us. they didnt steal nothing but they emptied ALL the NAKED bug-bear bodies in which were picked up in the dungeon(about thirty or so.) onto their living room floor. they then went to one of the richest family's home in which they began to loot nearly everything: this is where it gets funny-when they were stealing the couch....yes they were stealing this family's couch(i am surprise they didnt steal the kids toys!) the female fight drops her end of the couch waking up the man of the house. they quickly place the couch into the bag of holding. the elf fighter tried to jump threw the window only to pounce off hurting her arm while the elf rogue hits the window and knocks herself out(the player got a natural one for the record.) the elf fighter then throws the rogue into the bag and gets out of the house....they were stop by the night patrol only to find they were wondering why the hell was a rogue doing in the fighters bag of holding.....in which cases they try to charm their way out the the mess only to find female partol came followed by a I-rate man wondering where his couch was(my sorceress was dying of laugher.) my character felt like she could help them out of the problem considering A she purchase some potion from the merchants and figure it could be blamed on and no harm found on anyone: just a bad potion to blame and B she might need meat shields. but well the two fellows thought they could throw me under the bus in which case my character finds out dragon is illegal in the village-my character wasted no time going to the room waking everyone up to get the nine nells out of their, throwing all the arcanic materials into the bag of holding. the guards in up asking mooonlight if she had draong blood in which she told the truth and poured the bag of holding out to find nothing but the fatal revelation that she bought a bag of devouring. well we were banned from the village by the patrol due to the fact their was nothing proving them to have done the crime....under the rogue open her mouth and yelled"if think he's couch being missing is bad check out that house over there!" my charcters were running like hell when she said that.
not then here is my problem: should i leave lot of them taking the other two characters the defend for themselves and start anew in the big city or should my just suck it up and look the other way?

That all depends on whether you are comfortable with the game progressing along that direction.
There are groups who get together and go past technicolor Paisley on the silly scale. There are others who are serious dungeon delvers. Most groups are somewhere in the middle.
How do *you* want to play?

well i try my best to always stay in character to a precise measure. like for instance when i play the evil rogue.(the topic is in here somewhere.) i kept him within the game's parameter; we were playing a evil campaign.
this one is different though: everytime something goes wrong in dungeon my sorceress gets blamed, then some of the character will try to kill her in which the dm ends up having to do something to keep it from happening: my sorceress is at a point she is going to either go evil and throw them in to bag of devouring or just striaght up leave them and hope the paladins of some lawful church hunts them down or a pack of money hungry bounty hunters do it-ether way she her CN alignment is getting close to the border of evil. but on a player level i am on the fence: one part of me wants to stay with the group but the other part of me says "lets them learn DnD consequences by getting everything under the sun after you: you will be dead before epic levels hit."
i like playing with my friends but i dont like their playing styles due to the fact of playign and DMing i know what should be done to keep the story going as well as well as keeping it from dying at an early age.
also an update in whic i forgot to add into my first post: i am having to run one of my friends characters right now: he is thinking about quiting for awhile but i dont want him to lose his characters due not being able to play so i am running his at the best of my abilities. he plays the wizard and the barbarian. i am think about right of asking him what we should about the other two considering the fact they are playing a chaotic level in which has gotten us in this problem....i think he MAY say it wouldnt be good to leave them but i have no idea what he wants to do: should i ask him when he gets back or just go ahead and do what i think is best?
