Hi , congratulations on the site there is alot of useful information here.
My friends and I have played ADnD 2nd Edition for a small while but our DM has left for another state. There are 6 of us and it seems I will be the new DM from our player group.
I'm pretty worried because I have never been a DM before, and although I have read the DM manual, I have no modules to work with, and don't really know where to start.
I've decided that the players will start at level one. We have a low magic party consisting of a fighter (roleplaying a cavalier), a ranger, a paladin a bard as well as a cleric.
I would welcome any tips any of you have for a new DM starting out with a party of expecting players. Also any tips on a good module or setting to begin DM'ing in?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the wonderful world of DMing. My biggest advice for you would be to know what rules your going to allow used, and stick to your guns. Nothing ruins a group faster than a DM that changes the rules every game (encounter, sesson, whatnot).

As far as gaming resources, one of the best sites that I've run across is www.dragonsfoot.org. They have a few modules, and most of the resourses that you could need for your game. You can also go to http://www.wizards.c...d/dnd/downloads and download old modules, box sets, and support material.

As far as modules, I'd check out E-bay. You should be able to get some fairly cheap. you can also check out used book stores, flea markets, pawn shops, even librarys.

most new DMs, I've noticed, tend to give powerful items easily, when they first start DMing. doing something like that can ruin the fun, so stay away from that kind of thing.
