I am currently running a Evil Campaign (composed of an evil cleric, swashbuckler, fallen paladin, and soon a new player (rogue)).

On the next few sessions, the Swashbuckler is going to assault one of the city's Guard houses, a two-floor building, with catacombs, to attempt to free his brother (NPC ftr).

Now, the catacombs, have 6 prison rooms, in one is his brother, in other, there's a bunch of gnome pickpockets (plot-related, the rest of the band is helping to create a distraction so the jailbreak succeeds), which leaves 4 rooms empty both in content and ideas

What I need is ideas for Jailmates, people who would be jailed in the catacombs of the Guard House... Help Please?

As a little punishment for the wicked: Locked in cell #3 is a homicidal maniac known only as Ripper. Ripper's history is unknown, he doesn't talk, unless growling counts. Ripper will attack anything he encounters using his fists, feet, teeth, and nails. Anyone that holds still long enough (or that he can sink his teeth into) he will eat. Worse, the guards haven't had the guts to go near enough his cell to try feeding him, he's been living off what vermin he can catch, while trying to gnaw and claw his way loose. The instant his cell opens he will break out and try to devour anyone foolish enough to release him.

In cell #2 is a young immigrant woman of about 17 years who has a quiet, gloomy demeanor. She sometimes talks to herself, but is quite charismatic when she needs to be. Struck with a cruel and uncaring attitude that has landed her in the catacombs (mostly due to her own recklessness), she has no particular inclination toward crime, but has absolutely no morals, either. This extends to taking life. If encoutnered, she will use the party as best as she can to further her own goals (survival first, entering a paritcularly vicious syndicate second, entertaining her sadistic streak third). While she is quite charismatic, it should be noted that she often asserts her charisma in a disquieting way--she enjoys intimidating people through innuendo and other subliminal means.

If anything is known about her (go go gadget Lore check), there is a rumor that she turned a gang upon itself, resulting in their wholesale masacre by their own hands. Her means were never discovered. (DM Note: She does not use magic of any kind. She is merely gifted with the ability to manipulate people by shear force of personality.) Other rumors include the existance of alleged companions of hers by the names of Mara Onteil and Ian Motrael. Her name is Milla Romanov, although she is just as likely to offer an alias.

Further DM Notes: Milla is insane. Pure and simple. Her alleged companions do not exist. They are figments of her imagination. She, herself, is a human monster in that she has no concept of guilt, remorse, or the value of life. She uses whatever she needs to get what she wants. Avoid playing up the insanity, and lead the party to believe she is perfectly normal. Leave any sort of reveal as a climatic shock. Furthermore, she will likely try to play the party memebers off of one another for her own ammusement. She finds it enjoyable to watch companions of any kind kill each other of their own volition.

How about someone truly innocent of a crime? Or someone who will tell authorities about the jailbreak in order to get in good standing? (like a pickpocket who wants to earn some brownie points)

Just some thoughts.

Someone innocent in jail? But that <sarcasm>never</sarcasm> happens! Silly RedSlayer, all that time in the ARMY has finally driven you to delusions.

But Raven, I've always been delusional! I'm Red Mage, remember?

But also, how about having a guard or someone POSING as a prisoner? Tha'd be neat.

Or, a political prisoner who will help the party outside of the jailhouse and in the realm of jobs/work/protection/etc?

All right. In cell #(what are we up to?) Sits one of the guards favourite sources, Squealer. He's a petty thief who bounces in and out of jail, but he has many more sinister contacts. In exchange for overlooking his rigged games and pick-pocketing, the guards gain information about the city's underworld that their own plants have never been able to gain. Squealer is an accomplished liar, able to keep his contacts from ever learning that he's a plant. He will manipulate the party to learn all he can, get out, and keep the information until caught. Once he's back he'll trade what he knows for another "Get out of Jail free" card.

A Barbarian who arrived jail for no crime but due to his self dignity have an urge to revange the false accuser/thejudge/theguards or anyone else who took a part in the trial (whether they are tobe blamed or not). It could olso be other characters and not a barbarian. That character will be against the authorities and the party could use him for their own purpose.

A warlock that has been cought in purpose to brake free (he might be only a few hours/days in jail) with his "flee the scene" invocation. He might be a good warlock that try to act against corupted peaple in the local police, or he might be an evil warlock who might be looking for much more vicious things and will try to make the party help him. He also might be spieing on the guards from inside the jail.

There might be an empty cell (after all most jail are not fully occupied all of the time).

A good character that was thrown to jail becouse he want democracy in the region. He might try to convince the party to help the rebelions.
I wish only only happiness, good luck and health to all of you.

Alas, the jailbreak was successful.

I changed some of the jailmates here and there, for example, Squealer became a corrupt merchant, and I changed Milla to a "better than thou" noble (which actually came up with some sentences like "You may lead me." *puts hand forward, palm faced down* and the players actually following her demeanor  )

Thank you very much for the suggestions :)
