Illithids make pretty good rogues. Their mind blast ability makes their sneak attacks much easier.

Doppleganger is a Monstorous Humaniod Race, Paul.

Here is the full description, out of the monster manual

Who is to judge what is right and what is wrong? Great and powerful foes surround us; unknown miscreants gnaw at us from within. We are threatened with total annihilation. In days such as these we can afford no luxury of morality.

I like the strange races. I am the one to look in books for things like Fey'ri and I love the Savage species book! Oh and the hengeyokai are fun too. made some races I use too before i found the Savage Species book. Then in the back they have an Anthromorphic section. Love to play characters from there.

Lich/Demilich is nice for a sorcerer. Unfortunately, it's a template, not a race :)

I like bugbears because they prove that just because your a very tall and very muscular does not mean you can't be a freaking ninja.

I generally play humans for the extra feat or skill point, but I like half-orcs more, maybe because so many people vaguely hate em or assume they have to be brawny barbarians

on a side note, I especially hate neopolitin, warforged, and dopplegagers. and I vaguely dislike those [WOMBAT] dirty elves

Halfling Rogue. Gotta love the +1 AC size bonus, +2 Dex (more AC bonus) and all the +1 , +2 & +4 racial bonuses to skills, saves and attack(thrown weapons).

Little guy... BIG ranged backstab.

And what's wrong with a half-orc bard? I could very easily see one, playing primitive bagpipes and percussion... fantasy headbanging music!
