Hmm... That's a tough one because it depends on the type of campaign that I'd be playing. My overall favorite is a Psion with metacreativity as his major discipline. I enjoy the Bard for political type roleplay and the Ranger or Druid interchangeable for heavy-roleplay. If I must play a heavy Hack & Slash roleplay (meaning someone just put a gun to my head), I would probably play as a Fighter. :roll smile:

How about my favorite character? Crush the half-orc barbarian/fighter/weapon master. Intelligent and inquisitive for a half-orc, he wields a flaming mercurial greatsword. The stereo-typical desire to bash things and deal lots of damage is there, but he has also recently gotten into ki and spouts lots of "inner power" rhetoric that he doesn't quite understand. He is aggressive, but he also wants to settle down with his wife and have a garden someday. The garden idea is his dirty little secret, as he tries to maintain his intimidating image. But his absolute worst nightmares are about the time that he turned into a wererat and ate his wife for dinner. His halfling friend Mira cooks the best cakes ever (she even put a couple skill points in baking).

True story.

My other favorite would have to be my elven monk, Thelonius. Maybe a few people out there will appreciate that one! ;-)

thats hard i like to play around with druids the wild shape is too cool to pass up and the little animul buddies can make any campeign a lot of fun but the necromancers in the game though lame are still my fave such as the pale master but a true necromance i wouldn't touch if my nuts depended on it too stupid they should make a necro more to a d2 (diablo 2 description i love them necros with daggers poison and more minions you can shake your wand at easy to make allowed to brake) but my final answer is the necro or more specific if you need it is the pale master

My fav's are the three gnomish brothers, who shared the last name forgetaboutit...sharp-eye, masi, and (I can't quite remember his name)...sharp-eye is a rogue/fighter with a repeating rifle and a deadly shot. masi is a sorceror. and jj is a gunslinger extrodinare...this was of course in faerun...and believe it was 1872...guns and stuff where around...it was a fun campaign...either that...or ajax...the orc fighter...who turned demi-god...along with his sword. He was crazy. He urinated on a sitting stone...and turned a paladin to his religion...then, with help, killed a noble who had by miss-speech had 70,000 gold on him...

in general...most of my campaigns are hilarious and require retelling several times...sorry if I rant...

let's see...who else...umm...as of tonight I have this new class/race thingy that sounds cool...a daemon resides within them allowing them a "bio-weapon" that forms of themselves and has some of the only magic in the world...but I digress...

I tend to play a very diplomatic elven sorcerer. I like this because it really suits me. I have always been intigued by magic, and enjoy playing diplomatic characters because I like to think my way out of situations. I don't really like to play any other types of characters... although I can see their strengts and weaknesses, I don't like to play them. I always choose lawful evil, and it suits me the most. So, in short, a diplomatc lawful evil elven sorcerer. Phew.

In a recent campain BrotherMouran and I played a pair of Dwarven Siblings. The Bloodforge Brothers. I was a Cleric and He played a palidin. They made and interesting addition to the party and were a great deal of fun to play.

Favorite class, that's a tough one. I would have to say the neutral evil bard is my favorite, followed by the lawful neutral druid, followed by the neutral evil ranger. That's right, I play evil characters, but evil in the self-centered way, not evil as the sacriligious do-your-grandma's corpse evil. Well, I guess there's a little evil-evil thrown in there.

i have come to love a new character of mine raven she is a ummm well it isn't quite dnd it is a system based on d6's it is fun but completely different she is a hadriak (you can find out what it is on my site if you feel like going doluth.tripod.com) fighter her biggest flaw is being completely fearless and one day it will get her killed (possibly tomorrow) but she is strong and swift somewhat unfriendly and keen she saved a couple of towns single handedly :-D (clawedly) and saved so many inocent and not so inocent victems
hats off to you raven

I would have to say my favorite class would be a monk because they just kick booty with just their hands and feet and become an outsider just for being one (at 20th lvl though) their hands are magical and they can kill with their quivering palm just by thinking about it. I mean come on I attack my party members with a high level monk use quivering palm and if I decide I don't like that character or they are just plain dumb I say "make a fortitude save or die" and their reply is usually "duh huh" which then I say "vibrations in your chest...nuff said." So yea the monk is my fav and if anyone doesn't like it make a fortitude save or die (and I'm not telling the DC).

It seems like most of my players like fighters most of all, 3 of 5 like them so I just want to see if this is normal

I've played every one of the basic classes at one time or another, except a paladin. That's my next character once we start a new campaign, if it will fit well in the party.

Personally, I have no favorite class. Each of my characters is unique enough in personality to hold my interest. While it's wonderful fun to be my character Red, in the forefront of battle plowing through enemies, it's just as great to be Lheeha the wizard, making nasty snide comments and proving just how smart she is while trying to stay out of harm's way, or Rahne the cleric with nearly zip in combat abilities but a personality that will rot your teeth, it's so sweet.

I like my Halfling Ranger/Rogue in a Darksun setting. Very versatile and fun to play. I have Gnome wizard who is fun but is lacking until higher levels.
