While I am a proponent of options and the like, I am probably going to put this on the back burner for a short time. What I have here needs testing and to be filled out further, and I am worried that this is sort of an exercise in futility. It seems that more often than not, people are not willing to learn a new system or new house rules or the like, and this effort will go to waste. Furthermore, because I am still working on a proper setting that is to my liking, and this system is intended for use with that setting, I do not wish to go too deeply into the rules without first creating that which the rules should be describing. In that respect, Dthclaw is far ahead of me.
So for now, I am putting this on the back burner while I work on the world.
