After reading the "bring back dnd resources" thread, I've decided to throw some of my stuff out here for judgement. I'm starting with some aquatic weapons I designed shortly before Stormwrack came out. I never worked out all the crunch, since I'm not very good at that.

Stingray Rapier
These rapiers are made from the hollow tails of Large or larger stingrays with a metal core for strength. The hilt is usually wrapped in kelp or sealskin. The blade is covered with barbs, causing it to naturally inflict an additional 2 points of slashing damage (not increased on a crit, not halved in water.) In addition, on a critical hit the weapon injects a mild paralytic venom (1d2 Dex/1d4 Dex, DC 18.) It takes half the normal amount of XP and only 1/4 the normal amount of GP to enchant a stingray rapier with the Wounding property.

Throwing Crabs
These tiny weapons deal damage as shuriken, but on a successful hit they animate and burrow into the target's flesh, dealing an additional 1d6 points of damage. The crab then latches on with its claws, making it impossible for the wound to heal unless the crab is removed. This process deals an additional 1d6 damage unless the remover succeeds on a Heal check (DC 20.) The crabs cannot burrow into any creature wearing medium or heavy armor or a creature with more than 5 points of natural armor. Anyone proficient with shuriken is proficient with throwing crabs.

Jellyfish Whip
... I know I made one of these at some point, but I must have thrown out the sheet somewhere along the line. So let's build it again! Any ideas?

I definitely like both the Stingray Rapier and the Throwing Crabs, there are however some alterations I would suggest.

For the Stingray Rapier, I don't understand why it would be cheaper to magically add on the Wounding property. However, I also don't see why it wouldn't be there already. Instead of providing an addition 2 slashing damage, I would suggest just giving it wounding as a non-magical property. After all, that's what the barbs do: they tear the flesh preventing it from closing properly. As for the venom, that sounds like a good addition as well. My next questions on this is in reference to the origin of this weapon. What race/person created it, how many have been made, how common is it, are there legends surrounding it, etc. This kind of a weapon could be the focus of a campaign itself if you word its origins properly, and I would love to know some of your answers as it was created for your campaign.

Don't really have any suggestions for the throwing crabs, other than a slight rewording to make it apparent that you're talking about the removal process, and having the crabs deal additional damage (1d2 or 1d4 tops) every round they're within the creature.

Now, the Jellyfish Whip, I would suggest giving it a non-magical Shocking property, and leaving it otherwise as a regular whip.

Personally, for the jellyfish whip, I'd have it like a normal whip, except that on a failed Fort save (DC 15) the target is nauseated. If struck a second time, the target makes another save or becomes sickened.

Actually, I didn't make these for my own campaign. I just made 'em for the hell of it. I wanted to try and keep it a bit flexible, origins-wise, since it seemed more likely that my DM would put it in the campaign if I left the background ambiguous. The basic idea for the crabs come from a mini-series of Forgotten Realms books - a drow character uses "throwing spiders" but an aquatic elf sees them and starts calling them throwing crabs. Thought they'd probably be used most by locathah, seeing as how sea elves are sort of deep-water and crabs are more coastal (also the elves didn't seem nasty enough.) The concept of a jellyfish whip came after a trip to Australia... the idea of harnessing the most venomous creature on Earth was just too evil to pass up. Look up "box jelly" on wikipedia to see what I mean. I meant it to be used by Sahuagin, since they seem just cruel enough to do that sort of thing. Kuo-toa like whips, I think, but I also tend to think of them more as freshwater creatures.

Having been stung by a jellyfish before (not one of the aforementioned deadly ones), I think Raven's idea seems closer to reality.

You could also have different variations of the whip based on the 'materials' (I suppose) used.
