Trevor is a freaking genius man.  I would not have thought of that happening in a long time.

Another example of his thinking , I was about to stomp the Party with a gang in a slum , Trev throws a handful of GP in the air , screams "Free gold" and ducks , the gang gets flatterned in the stampede and the party walks away  , I spent ages getting the encounter setup and He took 1 round to trash it.To beat him I need to think like a corkscrew :D

D

What really keeps me on my toes is that about 4 out my 8 players thing just as crazy as your Trevor does.

the whole just loves to come up with ways to out wit me or who ever our DM is. Which some time they are so busy looking for the trickery that i can nail them with the odvouis from time to time.

Being a DM is great but so is being a player

have a nice weekend every one Im off to game

Thats the way I handle it too , get them watching for the sneaky and hit them with the obvious.I can't complain too much , Im just as bad when Im playing :D

As an aside, Has anyone else ever used a "Yeth Hound" , 3e MM?? My players got hit with 8 of them lastnight in a random encounter , I'd never heard of them before. As it was they nearly wiped out the party(4x6th lvl pc's) , these things are nasty.

Its like the mouse in "The Green Mile" , it's too cute to kill and it just wont die

I'd say DM since that's all I've really ever been, and when I think about it I only think 2 of my 5 players would make desent DM but One dosen't make good stories but the other one would be ok at it (Note: I'm the only one who even has any of the books).

If I had to choose, I'd probably pick DM over player. I love creating worlds, NPCs, and adventures. I get a real kick being behind the screen and bringing my world to life, making my players cringe in terror, or cheer in honor of victory.

Luckily, I don't have to choose, and still get to be a player too! B)

I prefer being a DM...the last time I was a player the DM didn't do his homework and it got kind of stupid. There is also the simple fact that I live in a small town and I seem to be the only one currently interested in D&D...so it seems to be up to me to get a game going.

I prefer being a player since I am sick of DMing and also alot of the people that do DM need my help so for me it is either or. I also am plagued with people not playing much in me hometown. The good thing is there is a place where they have tournaments and stuff about 15 or so mins away.

It's so hard to pick one over another, because they are soo different. I like dming when a good story comes to me and am in the right mood to plan a lot. There has been times when I absolutely didn't feel like DMing anymore, then I just played for a while.

Being a player has been the relaxing cushion for me. When I get tired of DMing I take a break and be a player.

But I think I prefer DMing more since that's what I do most of the time..but still I can't say being a player is less fun for me.

With the group I DND with i have to be the DM but I would much rather be the player. The DM has way too many burdens. I give immense respect to anny one who can DM.

I've never DM'ed, but I'm learning, mainly from watching what everyone else does and gathering information from the internet and various places.

I think that DM's tend to be the more creative people because they have to make the campaigns and quests. Not to put down the PC's. I've seen some amazingly creative ideas in quests from the players. I think the DM looks like a lot more fun, just having the power over the game. Then again, as a DM, you don't get a chance to solve the puzzles and only get to control the enemies. So overall... I'm not really sure.

I spend about 75% of my time DMing; my coDM only likes to run adventures in specific parts of Altvogge(our world). The building and populating of a campaign world is the greatest fun of the game to me.

I'd had some great games as a GM and as a Player. As a GM I love it when the players surprise me with a wacky idea which changes the outcome of the game.

I've also had a few games ruined by players being agro to eachother by bringing worse stress into the game.

Overall i'd say I enjoy playing more though, being able to play an ongoing character over weeks and months and you just focus on that character (instead of many like a GM does) is great.

I naturally try to help others with ideas and comments and its easier for me do 'be myself' as a player (while not using player information) than as a GM, where I have to be impartial and let them decide where to go, as no one likes to be lead around the nose.

Regards,
Blake Storm

I prefer being a DM because you are the creator and there is a level of creativity that is involved. Me being a creative person, I can come up with very original ideas, so it's fun to have players playing in your world that you have created. It's also fun to create your own rules to make the game more interesting.
But, there is also a lot of creativity when it comes down to making a character because there are endless posibilities when you create one.

Ok let me think. ok i started playing about 7 years ago i was 13 2nd ed was a little hard for me to understand. So i went out and got the DM's and players hand book monster man. the hole works still i never used it i played 2 campains in 2nd never again! When 3rd came out i was like good now i can start off with everyone else so i got every book (I have about 23 now). After countless nights i have read them all front to back and back to front. I even made my own program to do all the treasure rolls it had anything that was in my books books i had in pdf format it was over 3000 lines of hard code and not only that it made encounter tables with all the monster i had MM1 & 2, Forgotton realms MC,...... You know what happen i was appointed DM and i have to tell you i hate it. The only problem i have with the hole thing is that i cant tell a good story. I have know problem makeing the make PC's or any other thing it's just the story if you cant tell a story then you should not be a DM. And with that i would rather be a player than any thing else. with that said do you know where i can get into a group and play.
