Does anyone know where to find the D&D 1st Edition manuals?
I purchased the first set at a yard sale, and then found out that it only went to Level 3...

So it's a learning experience for all of us. I'm really interested in random generators of Crit Hits and Misses, and weapon and armor to keep my player's...and me...on their toes.

I'm a jock at a radio station here in Kansas and my listeners all know that I'm a geek who spends her Friday and Saturday nights gaming. I have a few...I'm not sure they are the ones you want though...

Can you send me a note and tell me what you're looking for...as in describe them too me?

I'm not really much into playing the 1st or 2nd edition...so I might be able to help you...plus one of the places I go to to get my fix of DnD stills has alot of the old school books.

Technically, those weren't 1st edition. They were D&D, not AD&D. The D&D series came in three sections: Basic, Expert, and...well, I don't remember what the third one was, but it was a waste of time and money.

Now Advanced Dungeons & Dragons is what 2nd and 3rd edition are based off of. If you dont' want to search online (EBay being a good spot to look) I'd say search gaming stores that have used book sections.

your best bet is maybe just to go to second edition i have been playing d+d for about 22 yrs and it will be alot harder to get 1st ed books i my self have a large collection of 1st and 2nd edition stuff if and when you go to ebay i would always ask the shape of the books i bought a second ed book that fell apart a few months later i would do a normal search on the web for your stuff you might hit a gold mine also alot of conventions are getting rid of their 1st and 2nd ed stuff good luck

Shoot...I was just gonna dump it on my comic store clerk buddy...since I'm not playing that edition anymore.

It's yours if you want it. Believe me...it's pretty much brand new. (No adult beverage spilled on it!...j/k.) Seriously, really awesome book. Yeah, if you want it...it's totally yours.

Hi Mia. Do you still have those ad&d 2nd editions available. I have just started playing with a group after a 15yr absence. I can't believe that in a fit of stupidity I tossed out all my books

:( Unfortunately, the magazine sized instruction manuals are rather useless after 3rd level and were designed just to "get you started"... Once you reached the maximum of these, they (TSR) wanted you to buy the books. There are many resources on the web that sell these books or even let you download them (usually PDF), at a price... Your best bet is to go to E-bay, or to find someone in your area that has them for you to copy. I have all of the AD&D 1st edition resources, but unless you live in North Central Florida, I would be no help.

If you don't mind me asking, what part of North Central Florida do you reside in? I live in Ocala, and was curious. It's nice to see people still play the 1st edition. I loved it, but lost my books years ago in a fire. Recently I spent a small bundle on buying them back on eBay. IT WAS WELL WORTH IT! :-)
