...but I can't seem to remember this.

Does anyone remember how damage reduction was done in 3e (not 3.5e)? Magic damage reduction use to be in the form of 10/+3, but I can't remember if the weapon had to have a total enhancement bonus of +3 or if it had to be a +3 weapon and anything like flaming, keen, or vorpal didn't count. If someone could remind me, I'd appreciate it.

Damage Reduction 10/+3 in 3rd edition could only be beaten by a weapon with an enhancement bonus of +3 or better. Flaming and other abilities wouldn't cut it.

Yeah, just looked that up.

I think its to add benefit to having enhancements as opposed to abilities. Otherwise everyone would run around with +1 X,Y,Z weapons.

Yep, Red and Joe got it.

Though Arms and Equipment had a nice +1 enhancement that allowed it to be considered a +5 weapon for the purposes of overcoming DR.
