Basicly watching to much FMA has lead to me wanting an alchemist class!
Is there one already?
But who cares!
This is my attempt at it so i would appreciate critism (constructive preferably ;)) and also suggestions for improving it.
Its in the attachment at the bottom, may god watch over your souls......

Oh lordy, not FMA again. A number of things here.

1- You need to fix the BAB. It doesn't match the progression for Wizard.

2- You need to fix spell progression. It should either match the Wizard or the Sorcerer in spells per day.

3- Skill points must be based in even numbers. Eg 2, 4, 6, or 8 + Int mod.

4- If they use arcane mark to create TCs, then the time it takes should match the casting time for the spell.

5- How does value affect the Concentration check for transmuting?

6- You need a lot more than a sacrifice for bringing back the dead. With the exception of reincarnate, all bring-back-the-dead spells have pricey material components. Allowing a 13th level arcane caster (I'm assuming arcane) to effectively duplicate a raise dead but without the expensive components and overall getting a better effect is very broken.

7- Clean up the formatting and make sure you place every gained ability into both the table and the ability descriptions. As it is you have very little clarity, and some of the abilities listed in the description do not appear in the class progression.

8- d6 HD for an arcane caster that has a full spell progression and apparantly learns spells as a multi-school specialist Wizard? With armor proficiencies? With no arcane failure from armor? No. Very broken. More so than Warmage.

As a final thought: I would personally leave most anime inspired classes out. Anime, by and large, in order to accurately duplicate what characters can do in them requires massive breaking of balance. If someone wants to do an FMA inspired character, I would suggest that they play a Sorc focusing all out on Transmutation school effects.

You made me hate you when you decided to make a class from a hugely different world setting. You remember the first rule of alchemy (in FMA (Which is miles better than Inuasha or however it's spelled)), don't you?

"To gain anything, something of equal value must be lost in exchange"
-1'st rule of alchemy

And raising the dead (if your going to stick to flavor) would require something very powerful e.g: Philosopher's stone. Excuse my spelling.

Yes but in the rule "to make something something of equal value must be exchanged", there are flaws. If a life is sacraficed to create another one is that not equal trade?

Yes, but its not a balanced one from game mechanic perspective.

Dthclaw has done for this what i did for another class post, basically outlined everthing that needs to be worked on. I do however have one or two additional points.

First, Quick Scribing. Is that a feat, or an Alchemist only ability? If the former, where is it from? If the later, you're going to have to describe it.

For the Human Transmutation, ie your raise dead ability. You'll want to look at the guidelines for Sacrifice as laid out in the Book of Vile Darkness. There's a list of very specific modifiers that alter the effects yielded by a sacrifice. These would be good to bring in as a part of this feature. I would require the sacrifice be of the same race, age and gender of the individual being raised. Individual would be raised at 1 hp per hd of the creature sacrificed. Highest sacrifice numbers would indicate a true res, where the individual returns to his actual body. Lower numbers could just transfer souls between bodies, thus forcing their physical stats to be those of the sacrificed victim (which won't likely be above average). These are just a few ideas to modify it. I think I'd also up the level that the ability is gained.

Now, on to the "Bonus Feats". Does this just mean any feat, or is there a prescribed list of feats. The later would be better, and is what I would recommend as it fits with the bonus feat granted by other classes.

Thanks Paul. Sacrifice is common practice in my campaign world, as ALL clerics must do sacrifices of some sort regularly in order to retain their abilities. This has led to a lot of working with the sacrifice system as I continue to develop the newest version of Zind.

Hey, this is the best way to learn the game, imo. You start picking at the rules and testing their limits. Eventually, you figure out how far you can go and when you should stop. Then you create a group of spells that far oversteps those lines and scare the crap out of all of your players with little children that can rip people apart with invisible...nevermind.
This technique of RPG playing has been passed down the Bloodmooon line for generations!
