Rolemaster/MERP.  Horrid overcomplicated system.  The best part of the system were the critical hit tables. :)

Ditto Cuilean's comment for me. Although my comments about d20 apply to Rolemaster as well: I enjoyed several Rolemaster campaigns, but just as with d20 that was despite the rules, not because of them.

The current MageKnight design phases of BattleTech.  Blech.  If I wanted to play MageKnight, I'd play MageKnight.  I want my realistic tactical battle back. ;D

Which is a shame, I'd been looking forward to that - good thing I haven't bothered, I guess.

The original Bard from 1st edition AD&D.  A little too much historical style placed into that one, I think.

I actually thought it was a neat idea, but one that never actually see play in any of my 1st ed. games - we always used alternate/homebrewed rules for bards.
"Past that, who knows? It may be possible to generate quantum black holes given a sufficiently high velocity can of ravioli."

Q: How many Rolemaster characters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

A: Only one. However, on a roll of 00 the lightbulb explodes, sending shards of glass into the character's upper body. The character is blinded in both eyes. Shards of glass shred the muscles and tendons in the upper arms and shoulders, rendering them useless. Due to severed arteries, the character also takes 1d6 points of damage each round thereafter from blood loss until the wounds are properly dressed.

(Not entirely accurate, I realize, but it's been years since I read the original joke and actually played using that system.)

Wow. It was really that bad!?! If the rules for that were so bad, why did it ever get played!?! :spin:

If you were like a friend of mine , you didnt , you would use another system for the game but use the rolemaster system for the criticals :spin:
it actually worked quite well and of course it made getting a critical "Interesting"

D
Its like the mouse in "The Green Mile" , it's too cute to kill and it just wont die

"Arrgh , Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal"
