I personally enjoy the horror feeling of any game (oh, yes, I concure that D20 Ravenloft is already out in stores, for emphasis), but I think it can be acquired in any gaming environment. Ravenloft is all about horror and such, true, but I see no reason to cut horror out of other things. Actually, come to think of it, my games usually involve horror to some small or greater extent. In my case, however, I seem to be fond of serial killing wizards in a game for some reason, that and a serial killling blind blues guitar man named Old Papy Muffin.
Hey, I just got a cool idea!!! What do you think the hero's reaction would be if orcs came running to them and pleaded with them to save them because there is an orc on a rampage and is slaughtering and canabalizing its own race. Hm....

Well I haven't been able to be a PC in the 12 years of playing D&D (due to the fact that I'm usually the only one willing to read books and the imagination to create {in my opinion} awsome campaigns with great storylines) but what I usually see half-orc barbs act like are "ummm point me to the bad guy... grrrrrrrrrr" hack 'n slash. but those are usually the ones raised by orcs. but the ones raised by humans are more like "You sir are an evil man or woman (don't want to decriminate) and you have done great evils against many innocents and I must destroy you .... grrrrrrrrrrr" hack 'n slash. But that's just what I've experienced but all in all it's up to the player.

That's exactly the point of this thread. To get away from the "me bash" half-orc barbarian without doing a complete 180.
