I was wondering where you would rule this one. That and I am a little bored at the moment.

I.... I don't honestly know. I would personally consider it kinda evil unless the archon stated it was willing to be used as a meat shield/ meat club.

Well, the cohort may b a follower, but hes not a drone, so he wouldnt do it if he didnt want to. if the PC's coerced him thru threats of violence/whatever, than its wrong. the dm decideds how far that the npc will go for the PC's, so the archon was doing it of his own violition. if the archon wouldnt do it, then its the dm's job to say, no the archon wont do that. so it is niether good nor evil.

The act itself if the archon is unwilling, is evil, however, it is to achieve good ends, so I'd allow it. Just like I'd allow it if someone burned down an orphanage to save the rest of a city from a deadly plague.

-shrugs-

Sometimes great acts of goodness require small acts of evil.

Personally I'm actually kind of awe-struck that the exalted PC would use the Archon as a not-so-human shield, and then as a divine WEAPON :o

And I'm the guy that told Majus to use Kami as a wind breaker...

Even if the archon was willing that borders on way too evil...no good pc would even consider that as an option. A neutral or terribly chaotic neutral PC, sure. I tend to be a bit of a stickler thoguh...for example any druid in my campaigns that uses squirrels to set off traps immediately loses their druidic powers :)...tee hee

Well actually using the archon istelf as a weapon, that's evil lol. As for the human shield, if the archon agreed to it then I would say it was for good but more chaotic good. If he didn't ask however and if the archon didn't want to be used as a human shiled and a living baseball bat then I'd say evil

I don't really know how to feel about this, personally i think that using a archon follower as both a meat sheild and a diving weapon is good improvising but the moral implications are really appualing. Usually when I DM my players pull htis kinda stuff alot, receltly including using a dagger to tap at a bugbears spinal cord after t hey tied him up and everything...they have fun with torture all using the chaotic neutral alingment unless they are another class then those people witht hg ood axis just leave the area. In the end i think that using teh archon for sheild and weapon is rather evl espically against a follower who has shown loyalty to you

I had to go with 1, but only because it would be an exalted deed on the part off the archon with his willingness.
That that is,is. That that is not, is not. That is all that is.
