Axel I get what you are saying but what would you have me do. I really like the whole united jungle tribes thing. I think that is the way I will go and will deal with the consquences later. Mabe that would make for another good adventure. What would happen if the PC's helped the jungle tribes gain power and then left. They would retun to a ratically diffrent place than when they left.

How long are the tribes united, though? An alliance forced by circumstance, from fear of a common enemy, can only last as long as that enemy exists. Without that enemy the one-time allies have no more reason to remain together. If you would have them a permanent alliance they need either more enemies or strong cultural and economic ties. Which seems unlikely in scattered jungle tribes.

One thing i'd like to note about gods is that if you're making a pantheon closer to real world, realize that during savage times, the gods named were based on the greatest of unexplainable things and the differing views of others and the change of time would lead to the conflict between the gods. The conflict of worship existed in civilized ages. Here's an example:
Many eons ago in real life, the world worshipped the moon for it gave light during the dark hours and the sky helped guide the nomadic tribes. Then as the ice age cleared away, and the sun took more dominance, the worship split into those who followed the moon as well as the sun. The reason for the sun being worshiped was also due to the fact that the land was fertile once again enough to plant and harvest, and agriculture depended on the sun. This lead to much conflict seeing as how both worshippers believed their worship was true. The old worshippers of the moon saw the evil that the worship of the sun brought in that the larger creatures that favoured the cold no longer could survive in such heat and began to die out. And the followers of the sun saw how they no longer needed to be nomadic since they could feed on the crops they grew. Fortunately, many wise men of the time found ways to help each side realize the importance of both and the unity in having both. One such example, as it has been speculated, is the creation of Stone Hedge. In it's original form, the rock formations were speculated to have created windows that could capture both the light of the moon and the sun at the same moment during certain times along their rotation. The rise, fall, war, and unity of worship.
