there is a whole mapmaker category in files for downoad. several of them are quite mature, not half-assed at all, but they're mostly freeware. Personally I use CC2. It's very expensive, but well worth the price.

I still use the map maker that came with AD&D Core Rules 2.0, it works well enough and wasn't anywhere even close to as expensive as CC2.

Well, when I bought it, I payed like $15-$20 Canadian for it. But that was three or four years ago. If you manage to somehow find it, it'll probably be a used copy and you can probably get it for a fiver.

I don't know, anwhere that sells previously played computer games has a chance of having a copy. Its old, and they don't make it anymore, so finding it will be quite a trick.

Three different land-tile sizes, Bunch of stamps for different things. 3 Tile sets, 1 dungeon, 1 over-land, 1 city. You can label it, and you can link different maps together on within the program. Other than that, not too much. For an example of what I put together with the city tile-set, check out my map of Arigot, http://rintaran.trip...hics/Arigot.htm

I use Autorealm.its a full Fractual mapper like cc2 but its a better price(FREE)the maps are not quiet as pretty as cc2 but they look good.
Its like the mouse in "The Green Mile" , it's too cute to kill and it just wont die

yeah all..
Autorealm is kinda nice, and it is free,.. but bogs down with alot of info or Icons, maybe it hates XP, but ither way it is a good short term or dungeon program, but think twice befor you use it for world mapping...

the problem with autorealm is it redraws everything on the map when you move it around , thats why it bogs down when your useing it.If youve got a fast machine its not a problem but if youve got a slow one (less than a 300+ pentium) its slow.ive got a 2.0GIG P4 and it flys :D
my biggest problem with it is the lack of icons , thats the one thing i like about CC2 , the icon range.
