Check out my art!

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
Dell: We're pleased to inform you that your order was shipped on 06/06/2006!
Me: Great, so now I have Satan in my computer. Like XP wasn't problematic enough.

If you are looking for some programs that help you as the DM or player, then yes there are several. I wrote a couple of them as well. I use the following:
1. Attackroller from Chris Redford,
2. DnDCE from Scot Seligman, dbase of rules and spells and such
3. Treasure Roller and Experience Calculator from me.
4. I downloaded all the SRD webpages and converted them and put them on my PDA so now I can have all the books mobile.
I think if you look on pocketgear.com you can find them. Each is freeware. If there were a particular need for a tool that is not developed let me know, maybe I could write it for you.

I'll have to check that out. I was thinking though, more of a digital character sheet and stuff like that...maybe I'll I'll have to look into making one myself, if possible...

Ah there is a digital character sheet for PDA made by Carl Davis of webcommando.com. It has some flaws but it is free. The major flaw is that one has to enter all kinds of data manually. I would like it to make more calculations by itself and be multiclass friendly. I am in the process of writing one for PDA, but it is a slow prjoect for me since I would probably not use it.
I tend to play with the the laptop as a player. The nicest playersheet around is theonlysheet.com one. It is super nice. Too bad I cant port that excell file into pocket excell. Try that one.
I will get the pda playersheet out eventually, but again, its a back burner deal. I would be much more likely to write up more tools to help players in game.

DSForgeworks
It's a Pocket PC based character sheet with DM Tools. The character sheet calculates the effects of ability score bonuses to saves, skills, attacks, and initiative. Most fields support the ability to add temporary modifiers to quickly add effects from spells, conditions, etc.
The DM Tools include a combat tracker, spell duration tracker, random name generator, random treasure generator, and a random weather generator.
The program also comes with an HTML hyper-linked index of the SRD that's been designed for use on a PDA. Essentially, the files are broken up into much smaller pieces so it doesn't take forever to load up the information you want. The SRD is integrated directly with the software, so anywhere in the program you see an SRD icon, you can jump directly to the SRD material related to that section of the program.
DSF works with Pocket PC 2002, 2003, and Windows Mobile 2003. The demo/trial version of the software will be posted this week, so please stop by and try it out.

Thank you ladyofdragons. I'm a firm believer that in a few years everyone is going to be carrying a PDA phone. The market is quickly moving in the direction of a convergent device with phone, data management, text messaging, television (dont' believe that one? Orb Networks), music, and multimedia content.
Wherever I go, I want my gaming to go with me, and of all the computer devices I have the cell phone is the only one that I always carry. That's why I decided to focus on phones and PDAs for my software.
I apologize for getting evangelical. I just really believe in the Vision™ and what I'm doing.

Great! The Vision™ for DSForgeworks is to be the software of choice for the gamer on the go. D&D in your pocket.
You mentioned in your original post mobile phones. We're currently looking at porting DSF to smartphones. We've just recently gotten our hands on the tools for us to do that, and the conversion will require a significant change to the UI. However, it is something we are looking to support in the future.
Please note that I'm using the Vision™ in jest. Some players of a certain extremely popular MMORPG might recall the oft maligned Vision™.

Good thinking ahead there.
Something else to keep an eye on is the Nintendo DS. I've not seen any official releases yet, but I've heard that Nintendo is going ot come out with PDA software for it, not to mention that there are a couple 'homebrew' multi-function frontends being worked on for it as well.

We haven't looked at the Nintendo DS yet, but we have looked over the PSP. I'll have to see what's cooking for the DS.

Here's a link to one of the frontends being worked on.
It's translated from Japanese so it's kinda rough to read...
Original link (Partial English)
The other doesn't have a site yet. The programmer working on it made PogoShell for the GBA, so it will probably be something similar.
