I'm not familiar with 2nd edition, however from the sound of it it may be similar to the mirror of life trapping, which entraps anyone who looks at it.

I would like to hear what this interesting name refers to. Maybe I (and some others who aren't familiar with it) would like it and use it...

Or, at the very least, we could come up with the item itself.

I say it is like the Golden Egg described in the Vamanapurana, in which Brahma slept for a thousand ages before awaking to create the world. Thus, the Dream Hold Egg is sort of a divine ovum.

If it was an item, though, I doubt it has as much significance as that. Even major artifacts don't approach anything that powerful.

Sounds like something tied with the Dreamscape or has powers tied to sleep and dreams. Hell if I know.

The Golden Egg itself wasn't powerful at all. It was just a bed. It was the sleeper who was powerful. And I don't think the egg is mentioned after he woke up, either. So it could be out there floating around in the sea. :D

The reason i ask is that my dm has offered a large xp reward for finding this info. the egg has something to do with a group of orientals commanding a large army of dragons. i dont know if the oriental part has any bearing but that is what they are.

Bad news: I just googled "Dream Hold Egg" and the only 4 results were all for this particular thread in this forum. On the upside, we have the monopoly on information on the Dream Hold Egg!

I guess we could just make something up and their DM would have no way to prove us wrong. :read: Not like he could look it up, apparantly.

If google can't find it, but he has hit on paper, then I'd say we're pretty much drinking Morin's Ale with a lit match

In that case we shall have to club your DM for being an arse.
