Paint of Construction

The illusion school is very powerful and has many checks in place because a good PC with some good RP skill can pretty much convince anyone of anything if hes a 20th level sorc illusionist....but there are illusions of diferent strengths, and since this paint was sugested as a device for a lower level character it hink it should conjure lower level illusions.
Now if you want to go all inuyasha you can make an artifact
The Colors of Woe
This set of paints was said to belong to the great weeping godess, she whose name may not be spoken, she who suffers eternaly, she who brings Woe.
In the hands of a skilled painter this paint will bring into existence whatever form it is used to paint (craft check paint DC=35) be it living inanimate or otherwise. The form is exactly the same in every way as its natural counterpart, be that a balor or a chair, except that it is mindless (like a golem) and totaly under the controll of the painter. When destroyed the creation explodes into a goo of black paint (which no longer has any magical properties)
There is enough paint to create 10000 sq feet worth of paintings.
For ever 100 sq feet of paint used though the painter looses 1d12 hitpoints and 1 con permanently unless he makes a fort save DC=25, for ever 1000 sq feet of paint used the painter must make a will save DC=25 of move one alignment category closer to neutral evil.

Okay, not just that, it's just the way you want it in your campaign. It's probably because the mentioned goddess was an evil goddess cursed to pain and punished eternally by an elder god. A power of an evil god is usually evil. An artifact that uses evil power is evil. Simple.
I liked this item btw. I especially liked the black goo thingy
I'll probably have a lesser magical item version with less paint and more limited use in my campaign tho

While looking around in the Dungeon Master's Guide for some interesting wonderous items I came across an item that is exactly what this topic set about to make:
Nolzur's Marvelous Pigments, page 263 of the Dungeon Masters Guide 1
Using a Craft: Painting check you can create real objects. Tada!
"Though these two kinds of devils wield terrible powers, they have different characteristics and appearances."

Marvelous Pigments: These magic emulsions enable their possessor to create actual, permanent objects simply by depicting their form in two dimensions. The pigments are applied by a stick tipped with bristles, hair, or fur. The emulsion flows from the application to form the desired object as the artist concentrates on the desired image. One pot of marvelous pigments is sufficient to create a 1,000-cubic-foot object by depicting it two-dimensionally over a 100-square-foot surface.
Only normal, inanimate objects can be created. Creatures can’t be created. The pigments must be applied to a surface. It takes 10 minutes and a DC 15 Craft (painting) check to depict an object with the pigments. Marvelous pigments cannot create magic items. Objects of value depicted by the pigments —precious metals, gems, jewelry, ivory, and so on— appear to be valuable but are really made of tin, lead, paste, brass, bone, and other such inexpensive materials. The user can create normal weapons, armor, and any other mundane item (including foodstuffs) whose value does not exceed 2,000 gp.
Items created are not magical; the effect is instantaneous.
Strong conjuration; CL 15th; Craft Wondrous Item, major creation; Price 4,000 gp.
Thank you Jimp!
I must say this is a much more subdued version. I think mine still works as an artifact, though it would need some tweeking.
