actually, since this post was dug up I'll put in my .02
I just got this with some of the kickback money from everybody's xmas purchases here off the site (thank you muchly if you bought something!) I wasn't actually quite sure what the book would be about, but I had enjoyed the rest of the series enough to give it a shot.
Basically, The Complete Adventurer is kind of misnamed. It's a book just like The Complete Warrior and Complete Divine, except it's targeted at rogue-specific classes/skill usage/etc. My guess is that since rogue stuff is so universal, they decided to nix the idea of "The Complete Rogue" and rename it.
At first meander, it's got some good crunchy bits in it, though I haven't actually had the time to sit down and read it thoroughly.

Intriguing... I might want to look through it a tad then if lady says it might be worth it.
In the Dragon magazine, there was an ad for a book called Races of the Wild or something like that. It is for Elves, Halflings, and a new PC race called the Raptorians, or something like that. Anyone consider that an interesting read?

My best understanding so far is that its basically the "Complete" sourcebook for everything that hasn't been hit yet with one of the hardbounds. It covers druids, rogues, bards, and rangers, all with a bent more towards the sneaky/martial side (except the druid ones). "Is it worth it" is more relative - take a look at it and decide if there's stuff in there you'll use often enough to warrant it.

Dell: We're pleased to inform you that your order was shipped on 06/06/2006!
Me: Great, so now I have Satan in my computer. Like XP wasn't problematic enough.

I just bought it, Complete Adventurer...
I don't want to sound like an advertiser, but i know I will
It's a great book. It has new base classes (Ninja, Scout, Spellthief), awesome prestige classes...with my personal favourite being the Fochlucan Bard.
This book really enhances rogue-classes, and heavilly encourages multiclassing with new feats that produce awesome monk-rogues, monk-paladins, paladin-rangers, wizard-rogues, druid-rogues...and bards who are bards, druids, wizards, fighter...all wrapped up in one!
But this book isn't like Complete Fighter, Complete Divine, and Complete Arcane in one fundamental way: it's not only for playing strong characters. The world-building element, the flavour it lends to any campaign world, is an incredible valuable quality of this book.
With the new organizations for rogues to be part of, DM-Hooks are in abundance, and players can feel more attached to the character and his/her world than ever before. The character can now actually have a place, a role in the fantasy setting, instead of being part of "that organization" which rarely, if ever, makes an appearance throughout the character's adventures.
I think it's a must have.

I am not exactly sure if it is a must have but I have peroosed (sp?) it and find that it does have some pretty crunchy bits in it. Can't say much more than Falivrin already has.

Wow!
This a very awesome book. Its one of the best that I've seen in a while.
I thought about starting a poll, but I know how many of you folks seem to have issues with buying new D&D books.
Anyhow, (keeping along the lines of the other books in the Complete series) there are some 3.5 versions of PrC that originaly appeared in some of the 3.0 softcover supplements such as the Bloodhound and Theif-Acrobat (and others). But there are a few new ones and a couple of really cool new core classes.
Core Classes:
Ninja. I wasn't real impressed with this, although it looks like a cool class to play, Dragon magazine had already created a core Ninja class last year.
Scout. This core class is my personal favorit. It somes up the type of character I really enjoy playing. It makes me wish I was a player again.
Spellthief. Oh, this looks like an awesome class. It blends rogue and wizard abilities very well. And has the ability to absorb spells.
Equipment:
Honestly I think some of the new exotic weapons are kinda lame. What the writer has done is take standard meele or simple weapons such as the quarter staff and short sword.
(Longstaff) As the name implies its longer than a quartestaff. Basicaly you get a +2 bonus to AC when fighting defensively.
(Broadblade sfort sword) Yeah. The only benefits are gained when fighting defensively. (a +2 bonus to AC).
(Barbed Dagger) This is cool. you get a bonus (+2) to damage if you have 5 or more ranks in Slieght of Hand and it has a couple other perks as well.
There are also some new and interesting items such as alchemical capsules. The come in many forms such as one that can be carried or hidden in the mouth (capsule retainer). Or a special retainer that one can attatch to a melee or thrown weapon (weapon capsule retainer).
There are also a some new cool feats, however they have redone the Jack of all Trades feat, and I think the new version sux.
Anyhow, I think the book was worth the money.
ladyofdragons put it best though;
