Saturday 3rd December 2005
Well, a very belated entry, and for that I apologise

Things started with Aust & Kami looking around. They checked out the door to the main deck and managed to decipher that there were 7 people on the other side, so they decided to go for something a little easier.

They headed downstairs and took a look around the crew quarters. They found a group of about 3 men about to beat another to death for playing crooked poker, but knocked them out anyways. They then dragged the bodies to the empty torture chamber (Yes, there actually is a torture chamber on a military airship ), being spotted by someone from the other room in the process, who then started screaming that they were under attack. Despite Aust's pleas, Kami shot him in the back with his crossbow and splattered the room with his blood, waking everyone else up, who began screaming. This alerted the entire 24 soldiers underneath, who began trying to scramble upstairs to assist. Aust handled the screaming crewmembers, and then shifted a bed onto one of the stairs. Kami had some trouble, but Aust managed to arrive just in time to shift another bed. Whilst the beds would only hold them for so long, they were a lot safer for now.

They headed back upstairs, and decided to check out the main deck now that the cavalry was pretty much taken care of. They stormed in, and found the previous 7 men, plus Mizure, one of Dotou's hired help, and the only one with a Strength score higher than Maju's... So things heated up considerably. Mizure did some serious damage, and Aust focused on using Flurry of Blows to take out some of the men. Kami managed to hold his own against Mizure, making sure to be at a distance. Eventually, Aust got pretty annoyed and starting using Frostband, being just out of range to avoid putting the engine out and causing a horrendous crash...

However, just when things were about to go hectic, they heard glass breaking upstairs on the upper deck. They heard some muffled words, put then heard something else, and then saw something out the window. They saw Morganth falling aimlessly out of the airship, seemingly unconscious... End session

Session 16: Do you want to play 2?

http://www.dndresources.com/index.php?automodule=blog&blogid=2&showentry=103

Saturday 26th November 2005
Well, today was a VERY successful session, with one of the best death scenes I've seen yet, and even the players managed to feel emotional about it, and also some of the best on-the-fly scenarios I've ever done.

To start, Yuki ran off again, and despite some high rolls by everyone else, Aust was once again the first person to find her, something she would remark upon later. She also noted, "There is a price for persistence", take note because this will be important in a little bit.

So, with a sprained ankle, Aust had to carry Yuki back to the convoy and through the cave again. Some great roleplaying here, especially from Aust, when they heard a screeching sound behind them and managed to spot a Frost Worm with a structure on its back speeding towards them. An excellent roll from Aust meant that he was able to escape its plow, being under a heavy load from Yuki. Then, the real story began, as Dotou Miarou appeared from within the structure and began speaking to 'Koyuki'. The Worm was then struck by several logs that had been deliberately shoved down the mountainside, and then appeared the remnants of the Elven 50th Brigade led by their representative, Lithelin Kyumon. I can't really recount well enough the next few scenes, so I'll post my notes on them instead:

""Everyone! Our Princess Koyuki is watching. Victory will be ours!" The men roar in agreement, and he then turns his attention to Dotou, drawing his sword in preparation, "Dotou Miarou! Do you know how long we have waited for this day? I am Lithelin Kyumon, a representative of the 50th Brigade. Now, we will avenge the death of Sousets Miarou from a decade ago. And we will take it out on you!" The men roar once again, and with a cry of "GO!" they all charge clumsily down the hill towards the Frost Worm, Dotou looking on gleefully.
Then, the sides of the structures open up to reveal a honeycomb of small slots, and then fire hundreds of darts through the air toward the men. They are all hit instantly as the darts cut through them like paper, their blood staining the snow on the hill a vivid red colour. Dotou laughs as the slaughter continues, until the finally cease firing. But one man has not yet been killed, one man remains standing despite several darts piercing his flesh. Lithelin Kyumon is still alive. He stumbles forward, clutching his chest as he bleeds heavily; darts protruding form his shoulders and stomach.
From the back of the structure, 20 familiar small longswords speed through the sky toward him, and Morganth attempts to erect a wall of force infront of him, but is only able to prevent 16 of them from hitting him, as they pierce even further into Lithelin before returning back to the Worm, blood spurting from his veins as they do. Morganth's temper flares, and he darts between the mounds of snow to avoid being targeted, and manages to get close enough to fire off a fireball, dealing great damage to the Worm, which screeches out in pain. He then fires a meteor swarm at the hill, causing a massive explosion and creating an avalanche that almost sweeps the Worm off of the outcrop and off the mountain, but it survives by moving on immediately."

Then, Aust managed to spot 1 of the longswords through a window in the structure, hovering in mid-air dripping Lithelin's blood into an orifice of a small creature, Meredith, he surmised.

And now, the death of Lithelin Kyumon:

"A few moments later, and a group of the crew assemble Lithelin onto a wooden stretcher and carry him over to Yuki; her first words "This is the result of their persistence. If they hadn't gone up against Dotou, they wouldn't have ended up like this." Lithelin, his body dying quickly, speaks
"Princess, I am very sorry...to get you involved in this. I, and everyone else...because you were around, we didn't lose our hope." Yuki looks at him coldly, as he continues "Ever since you were young, and even now, you were always our princess. That's what I, Lithelin, believe that you are...please believe in yourself...you are our hope. Your Highness...please don't cry" He wretches once, then falls limp, his eyes glazed.
"You really are stupid, Lithelin. I cannot cry, because you have the eye drops.""

So, a short conversation later, and a dirigible of sorts appears that grabs Yuki from the outcrop and hoists her aboard. Aust & Arthur successfully make their Jump checks and manage to grab onto the back of the vehicle, then managing to climb around to the entrance. They climb in, and manage to knock a shuddering, sleeping guard unconscious. Being very careful to make their Move Silently checks, they sneak toward the next door and use Perform to imitate the guard. This is a very big step for them, their first idea was to wear the guard's uniform and pretend to be him, my response to which was "Let me put it this way, if you wear that Guard's uniform, you'll look like Jabba the Hut after overdosing on Slimfast" . So, they get 1 more guard out and out cold, then the last one. Or so it would seem. Aust gets cautious and peeks under the door, seeing a pair of small, Halfling-like, feet. Arthur, understandably still spooked from his near-death experience with Meredith the first time, goes to open the door and jump out. Aust makes extensive use of Move Silently and Spot, but enters the room and the feet have vanished, so continues on to the door on the other side of the room.

And that's where things really got going

Aust opens his door, and Arthur opens his, and they both see the same thing: Meredith. "Do you want to play too? You were not invited." Arthur gets pinned to the wall by her longswords, whilst Aust gets one holding him in position at the crotch. Aust quickly makes a Diplomacy check to change her to Indifferent, which really made things much more interesting, his Natural 20 declaring it to be a critical success meant that things got much more personal. A few more, and he had a more than Friendly Lawful Evil Pixie shuddering toward Lawful Neutral and a +1 morale bonus ('Nuff said). She told him where Koyuki was, then detached Arthur from the wall, and both gave a bow and vanished.

This may shake the very foundations of the Citadel...

Session 15: Do you want to play too?

http://www.dndresources.com/index.php?automodule=blog&blogid=2&showentry=100

Saturday 19th November 2005
We managed to get almost everyone here this week for the best session yet in this adventure. Of note is that as soon as Aust saw the character sheet for Meredith (Who had thought was a joke by me to keep him on his toes) he literally burst into laughter and started screaming he didn't want to die

Things started with a loud crash, as the cargo ship hit the Malbosia Icecap with a thud that woke everyone up. The casting agent was insistent that it would only slow them down a few days, but the director wouldn't hear of it, he wanted to film the next scene right there.

So, Majus lifted the equipment out of the cargo, and Morganth and the other actors took their places to start acting. Only a few lines into the script, however, an explosion occured behind Morganth, who immediately took his new position to prevent any of the actors from proceeding toward it. In a little time, 3 new adversaries appeared, Tsubame Fubuki, Mizure, and Rouga Nadare, who seemed to have a grudge of somesort with Morganth. In no time, Morganth & Nadare were going at it, Morganth having to almost completely Illusion spells because he hadn't foreseen this event prior, and his Epic spells were too risky. Arthur took place to protect the ship entrance, whilst Majus took on Mizure and Aust began versus Fubuki.

Aust quickly became frozen in Fubuki's Hyouro no Jutsu, that encased him in strong ice that dealt 17 points to the poor lad. Mizure took a hit from Majus, but Majus took one from him and almost got knocked out outright, despite only having a +1 difference between their Strength modifiers. He decided the move to the relative safety of the entrance, next to Arthur, and narrowly avoided Hyouton! Tsubame Fubuki by managing to deal the requisite 20 damage to the swallows with his help. Aust broke one arm out of the ice, and Mizure moved closer to the ship.

Just as they were gaining the advantage, 15 small longswords flew from the sky and drew a line between the two groups, as a fell wind delivered a message: "Do you want to play too?". In the blink of an eye, everyone was back on the ship, courtesy of a number of a teleport, greaters by Morganth, as a massive ice whale with one horn smashed into the icecap, destroying it and leaving no evidence of the group. Aust was convinced that he had seen something at the top of the ridge, a small black shape in midair, but no-one else saw it. Morganth gave them a little background info on the trio, all three being notorious in Japanese mythology as merciless mercenaries. It should be noted that he then had to use his only charm person to keep him from committing suicide...

That night, as the spell wore off, Aust woke up and heard something outside. He saw Morganth magically unlocking the door to Miss Yuki's room (Thoughts immediately flying). He sneaked outside and listened to inside, hearing a k-chak sound like a lock being opened. With that, he waited beside the door for Morganth to exit, and was instead hit brutally in the face as he did by the door. Morganth either didn't notice him, or didn't care, but Aust certainly cared about his new broken nose.

Meanwhile, Majus succeeded on a roll to start dreaming of Chocolate

Next, Aust heard some creaking floorboards upstairs, and went to investigate. As he stood at the door, he heard some singing like a little girl, seeing a small shape staring at the biggest moon he'd ever seen. He then heard a muffled thud, Majus having succeeded a roll to start sleepwalking, and having fallen down the stairs to the engineering deck. He investigated, and managed to drag Majus upstairs to bear witness to this, but he fell asleep again.

Finally stepping outside, and writing everything that was happening in his journal, Aust started talking to the Halfling-sized girl, now known to be called Meredith, who quickly seemed somewhat infatuated with him, and asked him if he wanted to play a game,
"Do you know how to dance?"
"That depends what kind of dance"
"That kind"
Pointing behind him, he turned around and immediately saw a large group of ghostly people dancing on the deck. Arthur, having woken up and gone to investigate everyone's whereabouts, however, could see nothing but Aust talking on the deck. He called over to him, and was greeted by a small longsword flying straight past his head and lodging itself in the wall behind him "You weren't invited", and she was right infront of him, staring him deathly in the eyes. The longsword then dislodged itself and flew right past Aust, who could barely see what was happening through the dancers.

A few short words, and Meredith stepped onto the side of the ship and took off her cloak, dropping it over the side and revealing why there wasn't any clothing listed on her sheet. She then did a backflip into the water, but no splash was heard, and no trace found of her.

So, 3 new enemies, a Dominatrix Pixie commanding them with a crush on Aust, and yet more mystery aboard the ship of this seemingly ill-fated voyage. Oh yeah, and Meredith? Happens to apparently be the 1st High Maester of Grimdolf too

Jester Diary - Entry 2

http://www.dndresources.com/index.php?automodule=blog&blogid=2&showentry=96

<Well, it's Saturday 12th November 2005, and since no-one showed up for the session this week, I'll be bringing just the diary entry today On a side note, I beat the odds anyways by managing to find not 1, but 2 GIRL GAMERS in the same place at once! And I then proceeded to whup their butts at Zombies!!! >

Dear diary,

Well, I finally found a game that Mother sucks at, namely because her memory is now clogged with sensory programs and the history of the Gith races and Illithids , so I can now kick her butt at the new 3-Dragon Ante card game that's showing up in a bunch of taverns.

Morina arrived a few days ago, and she seems to have something of a 'Mihoshi' gene, because no matter how hard or well I hide, she always seems to 'accidentally' find me , so I'm going to be needing either an oxygen tank for when she finds me now, or a doc who can cast contingent resurrection for when Morganth kills me for what she will undoubtedly do to me. It really does suck to be the DMPC I can tell you...

So anyways, news on the Shounen Bat front is that he's been caught, but the kid isn't saying anything. Figures, I'll bet money they caught someone the actual SB based his appearance of, the authorities here are as much Sherlock Holmes as a preschool chemistry set.

Apparently some of the regulars down at some of the bars have it in for me because I can drink Morin's Ale like apple juice and the girls find it attractive and cute. There's a rumor that some of them are passing around a collection to have me assassinated, but they're only low level commoners, I'm sure they won't pull anything that can get into the Headquarters and through Morina. One advantage of having a constantly glomping fan is the protection benefits

Later, Jester

Session 14: Hectic Trip

http://www.dndresources.com/index.php?automodule=blog&blogid=2&showentry=92

Saturday 5th November 2005
Well, we finally settled our location problems, and despite killing my 1-year hiatus due to school issues, we managed to get a bumper session in:

#1 Where's Yuki!?
Yuki, the lead actress in the entire film, had gone missing aboard the ship everyone was travelling on during filming, so her manager Lithelin and Aust headed off to try and find her. They worked their way through the entire ship, eventually managing to spot her staring out the window in Engineering & Cargo, where she pepper-sprayed Aust for staring a little South of the necklace she was wearing. After quite a while and a lot of negotiating, they managed to coax the less than happy actress up to the Deck for the filming.

#2 It's purple, it's huge, and it's swimming alongside the ship...
Aust got settled into watching the show, and one of the filmcrew kindly got him a scotch on the rocks (Good for the player, since everyone in the group is underage ), then managed to hear something wierd in the water behind him. So he peers over the edge and what does he see? A long purple serpent-thingy (His words!) alongside the boat. He (quietly) calls Morganth over, since he's not acting in this scene, and fires off a few arrows from his composite longbow (Despite a rather lengthy OOC chat about the possibility of one existing) dealing a grand total of 8 damage. Morganth's turn, and he just fires a disintegrate and Aust watches as the thing turns to dust in the water. Eep indeed...

#2 BUT WHY IS THE FOOD GONE?!
After noticing that the gruel has been cut back at mealtimes, and remembering that there was more than enough for several months loaded onto the cargo ship, Aust & Lithelin investigate the shortage. They find out from the french-accented Chef that the food has been going missing with a number of the barrels being broken into. They investigate the barrels, and manage to divine that they were broken into by something probably small with very sharp teeth. So they sit alternating shifts that night keeping watch for the little thing. Eventually, he hears something and manages to Move Silently (Over 3 barrels no less) to get into the next room with the noises. He can't see anything, and decides to keep listening for it's next move, only to find several red, clawed, legs grab a hold of his head. He managed to throw it into a barrel and close the lid, with help from a natural 20 on his grapple check, although he lost 1 from his constitution and consequently 11 HP from a bonus drop. He manages to wake Lithelin up and he rushes off to get a torch to see the thing. He finds one with Richard Sandaru, the halfling casting agent, and when trying to wake him up rolls a natural 1 and sends him into a temporary coma... So, he heads back down to Aust and lights the torch, which Aust promptly throws into the barrel and manages to catch a glimpse of what is now obviously a Rast. Now, despite it's immunity to fire, the thing still had to breath, so it had about 10 rounds in the barrel before the torch burned away it's oxygen and choked it with the fumes from the cooking meat inside with it (Something that will come back to haunt Aust later). They manage to keep it in for almost the entire time, but the burning barrel eventually causes Aust to let go and it escapes, angry and half-dead. So Aust then pulled out Frostband and froze it to death whilst Lithelin tossed a bucket of water on the smoldering barrel. Everything now safe, they throw the body into the wall of fire fueled engine.

#3 Remind me never to watch Jaws again
Well, long story short the barrel that Aust torched was holding Morganth's Laissue meat, a very delicious elven steak that is enhanced in flavour by the incineration of its neighbours. Fortunately for Aust, it can be acquired from any wild animal's bladder organ, and so he jumped into the water alongside the slowly-moving ship and pricked his finger to attract what would become 3 Large Sharks. It took a while, but eventually he manages to kill all 3 of the sharks and they float to the surface, with a rapier no less. So, that done, he hauls them quietly up to the deck and drags them into Morganth's room with a note "Here's your meat, please don't hurt me for the floor"

Just for a little clarity, Arthur's character is in the shop at the moment, so I let him play Lithelin.

And then we played Zombies!!!.tm for the rest of the day

Jester Diary - Entry 1

http://www.dndresources.com/index.php?automodule=blog&blogid=2&showentry=89

<With everyone else heading to the Frozen North, Jester is left alone in the Headquarters since he hates the cold. Since I'd rather keep a sense of continuity than leave him to rot in my harddrive, I'm going to be posting little diary entries between sessions. Enjoy!>

Dear diary,

Jester here, things are heating up, or rather down, around here. The kids are heading to the equivalent of the Antarctic with Morganth and the film crew (Definitely a must see in my opinion, anything with Morganth usually is). I've had a cold for a few years now, so I don't intend to have it escalate to the flu when the people around here rely on Clerics for diseases.

So, anyway, things are pretty quiet here. Mother may not be able to move from her spot, but she sure knows how to play Chess, Checkers, Yahtzee, Poker, and virtually any other game I can come up with. I've considered more than once doing some 'DIY' on her to see if I can win, but I'm sure I'd be on the receiving end of one Prodigium Hextas if I did. She's certainly not one for idle chit-chat though, so I thought I'd take a walk today.

Everyone knows me here, or at least that's what you'd think. I'm a very friendly face after all, and glasses aren't something normally seen anyways, so people act either curious or kind towards me. At any rate I haven't had many bad encounters here, except when I leant on the wrong end of a horse, but that's a story for another time. There's a bunch of wierd stories going round to, stand near a brothel long enough and you tend to hear a few. Biggest one seems to be about someone called 'Shounen Bat', certainly sounds familiar but I can't quite place where. Anyways, there's supposed to be this kid that goes around with a crooked club moving like he's on air, then he hits people for no reason . He only strikes at night, which is when I'm most active (I always did work better in the dark, why else would I wear shades all year round? ), so I'll keep a look out. Still can't place where I've heard the name before though.

Maya Gemellus is in a play here, can't miss that what with her history, 'cause I'm sure the kids would have a heart attack if they knew where she came from. I was lucky Morina stopped them talking to Mara when we got back, actually I was lucky not to be suffocated by the girl, she could crush a wall of force between her, well, I'll stop there, prying eyes and all.

At any rate, Morina is bored up in the valley so she says she'll be coming down here for a while. Yipee...

Wednesday 28th September 2005
With things a little hectic regarding our usual gaming location this week, I decided to try and keep everything light. So, since Morganth has been given a role in the upcoming The Unfortunate Princess - Part 3 motion picture, the Dead-Nicks are being hired as protection and translators.

This week, the Director, Casting Agent, and 3 of the Main Actors showed up at the headquarters to settle all the arrangements. After a brief period it was agreed that 1000 GP/hour between everyone was enough. So, with that out of the way, they started talking to the other cast members. They each seem very interesting:

Morgan Hideo - Plays Shishimaru the Fighter
Alfred Kin - Plays Brit the Mage
Robert Michi - Plays Tsukuyaku the Samurai
Richard Sandaru - Casting Agent for Sundial Productions
Michael Ainsley - Director

As you can probably tell, the film is oddly enough based on the legends of Japan. It features Princess Fuun travelling the land after the evil mage Mao (Played by Morganth in Part 3) who is attempting to destroy her country (Cliche, but it works). Part 3 will be set in the Frozen North, so transportation and heating will be provided by Sundial, but will still involve Fortitude saves against the cold.

The 4th actor, the famous actress Yukie Fugicarsey, will be playing Princess Fuun, but she didn't show up at the meeting and her manager, Lithelin Kyumon, went in her place. She apparently doesn't want to go to the Frozen North and hates elves, Morgan suggested she had apparently been snubbed an autograph from an elven poet (Everyone already has a good idea who that was) which is why he thinks she doesn't give out autographs.

So, next session starts their part in the film!

Wednesday 21st September 2005
Having gotten back rather begrudgingly on foot from Japan, everyone was pretty weary, except for Jester, who seemed kind on edge.

They got to the entrance, where they met a wierd teenage girl about 19 years old with some wierd hair, she seemed pretty infatuated with Jester, who she quickly hugged into unconsciousness. Then there was a major scream from the sky and everyone saw a young girl dropping. Arthur made some pretty nice rolls and managed to catch her, where we then found out that she was Liz Taylor, the same girl looking after Pinky, Morina's pegasus. We also found out Pinky was kinda loose, but were told not to worry about it.

So, Jester got up off the floor, breathing at last, and Morina started giving everyone the personal tour of the new building. Great piece of work, new games room, lots more beds, three showers, even a toilet in the lower level. There was also a really dark room called the Comms room, but Morina made sure to mention that they weren't allowed in there unless in absolute dire emergency.

Next up we have the major adventure they've been waiting for ever since Morganth got his letter from Sundial Productions. That's right, Morganth is going to be in a movie, and the Dead-Nicks have been hired to guard Yukie Fugicarsey, the lead actress

Session 11: The Sand Demon

Wednesday 14th September 2005 & Thursday 15th September 2005

Well, after much preparation and persistent computer malfunctions, we finally managed to get the last adventure in the Japan campaign done! So let's take a look-see at what happened:

Prior to arriving at the village, everyone received a letter from Morganth saying that he was already aware of the goings on (No-one's sure entirely how, but what the heck, it is Morganth ), and also mentioning that he was making some renovations to the building. [Note: Any money they make out of this trip is going towards the bill ]

Part 1: Everyone managed to get to the Academy, the whole village seemingly a ghost town drenched under inches of sand. The entire courtyard was almost entirely consumed by the stuff, and the pond was pretty bad too. Surprisingly the only part seemingly untouched by the sand was the Sand Garden...

So they checked out a few rooms in the main building, not finding too much after an attempt to climb the stairs almost resulted in complete Order of the Stick style disaster. They visited the Kazekai, and after a rather rude conversation were told to toss the surviving assassin into the pond. So Blue and Arthur took him outside and switched his clothes with those of his dead brother, tossing that in the pond instead and gagging the survivor. There was quite a conversation going between everyone and Tanryoku, even extending to apparent stories of Morganth reaching the island. Unfortunately, they also found out that the assassins were after Kami's brother, Gaara.

So they were led upstairs safely, after a little bribery on Tanryoku's part about a simple form of 'power', which tempted everyone quite nicely. They were introduced to the challenge: Defeat (but not kill) one of Kami's other siblings. So they took a look in the three individual arenas and met the three in turn: Kankuro the Puppet user, Temari the Fan user, and Gaara. After a little debate and the application of Eeny-Meeny-Miny-Mo, Gaara was chosen. Things went well at first, Blue grappled him in one go and held onto him for an ample amount of time whilst Aust and Majus tore into him with swords and Kami & Arthur letting loose with arrows (And thankfully not hitting anyone other than their intended target). Gaara's health dropped quickly, and he wasn't able to hit anyone well enough whilst grappled to get in a Sabaku Kyuu. Eventually he was down to 1 hit point, and that's where everything got hectic. Arthur tried to tie him up, but fumbled his roll and accidentally half-strangled Gaara, sending him to -1 and putting everyone in hot water. Not because of Tanryoku mind you, but because it made Gaara unconscious, and Shukaku the Sand Demon able to escape...

Part 2: Everyone was terrified of the Sand Demon. Majus' fire wouldn't hurt it, and no-one else really had many good ideas. 'Cept for Jester of course . He took to hand one of his techniques and managed to neutralise Shukaku's hold over Gaara, returning him to the sand gourd and temporarily holding Gaara while unconscious. A quick application of healing later, and Gaara was back in the positives.

Back to Tanryoku and everyone explained what had happened, or at least tried (This part occured on Thursday and Kami wasn't available).

[Incidentally, we had another nice little snippet of conversation:
Tanryoku: For successfully defeating Gaara, I will grant you the power I mentioned and remove Kami's Missing-Nin status
Aust: Yes!
Tanryoku: But...
Aust: Crap! ]

Tanryoku banished Kami from the Sand Village and betrothed him to the Leaf Village, but also admitted a prize for defeating their best weapon: He let him be the first test subject of the Prototype Hanburi Generator. So, a quick bit later and Kami was up fresh with a -2 to Strength, and a +2 to Dexterity & Constitution. Now he can actually stand to let loose a technique without threatening his own life...

So, everyone decided to head home, had a little chat with Kankuro & Temari before (Majus kept asking if they knew of any good sword shops).

So next week, we get to check out what mods Morganth's made to the Headquarters. Featuring a special guest tour by Morina herself

[Session 3] Well, this was a pretty short adventure, but it basically revolved around Creepus and Layla meeting a dwarf called Skaldi (Who snores by the way ) that said that there is a bunch of Goblins invading a section of the forest near Layla's house. He also happened to mention that Layla is the Witch of the Forest, someone talked about in children's stories as the woman of the wandering house.
Indeed, the stories are well deserved. We were weeks away from the mountains, but as soon as we stepped out the door the next day (After a good breakfast of stewed Squirrel I might add) we were right at the base of the Mountain ridge. So, we said our goodbyes to Layla and left. Or rather, she left, her house sprouted chicken legs, spun around and vanished...
